Sala Restaurant is deemed as a safe haven for gourmands and casual diners. It offers a wide variety of great tasting European dishes. The restaurant has modest interiors including a long sofa, smoked mirror accents and Kamagong wood veneers which made the atmosphere more relaxing.
Sala Restaurant is set as a haven for gourmands and casual diners who want to enjoy their meals forgetting about the city and enjoying the leafy terrace fronting it. The bustling street of the Makati area is just forgotten as it is perfectly set at the back, almost completely set into oblivion.
It all started when restaurateur Colin Mackay opened the restaurant in the old city of Manila. Everyone enjoyed the modern European food since then. It was rather a bold move then when, in 2007, Mackay decided to move Sala to Makati. The restaurant seats up to 40 guests. The modern and sophisticated space is surrounded by stylish interiors which is a perfect space to forget about the bustling street outside. Another good point is that it is just a few minutes walk from the Greenbelt Park, Ayala Museum and international hotels.
Diners can expect nothing but the best quality and the freshest homemade breads, favorite dishes and creative Mediterranean treats to indulge in. The clean and simple interiors pay homage to the long sofa, smoked mirror accents and Kamagong wood veneers of the first restaurant.
The restaurant is open for lunch from Monday to Friday (11:00AM to 2:00PM) and Dinner every evening (6:00PM to 11:00PM). There is complimentary basement parking for diners every evening.
What to Order
Being regarded as one of the best modern European restaurants in the country, this elegant and cosy restaurant has great tasting dishes to offer. A good way to start a meal is to order their best-selling ravioli of portabella mushrooms, ricotta, twice-baked soufflé with prawns, dill, feta and Oarmesan and white truffle oil. These are very popular among regular customers.
Meat lovers should pick the dry-rubbed grilled lamb cutlet with spinach and goat’s cheese or the grilled Mulwarra beef tenderloin with Jerusalem artichokes and porcini gnocchi. These dishes are served with the meat’s juices still intact but cooked so well that you will love every bit of the meat.
People who want to eat light can opt for the Tasmanian salmon with cauliflower puree and Scotch eggs. The fresh fish leaves a wonderful treat in the mouth. But for a filling take with no meat, the truffled white risotto with blue swimmer crab and tiger prawns would be a sure winner. Some diners order dishes which vary with the different available ingredients in season.
The exquisite wine list would be a perfect companion for the treats on the menu.
Sala Restaurant offers a perfect venue for private functions, corporate events, cocktail parties and celebratory dinners.
