The Design Center of the Philippines (DCP) is a technical agency of the Department of Trade and Industry. The agency serves as a contributor and provider of innovative designs for these to become globally competitive. This shall be in partnership with the government and industries to deliver efficient and prompt services for global competitiveness.
The Design Center of the Philippines is formerly known as the Product Development and Design Center. It has a mandate of promoting effective designs for the creative improvement of quality and international competitiveness of the Filipino brands. This is a necessary tool for the creation of sustainable economic growth and enhancement of the quality of materials used by the populace.
The Design Center is also mandated to develop and maintain creative research and development programs the center is also helping improve the products made in the country to help the small and medium enterprises. The agency also handles seminars and training for the public to showcase and hone their skills. Designs and exhibitions are also opened. These mandates are stated in Republic Act 10557.
The DCP is set to lead and advocate the design and innovation of Philippine made products and services by increasing its competitiveness in the global market.
